As a former guitar player / vocalist / co-songwriter, in the signed group Socratic (Drive Thru Records) for over 10 years. Kevin and Socratic have played along side acts such as the All American Rejects, Incubus, The Offspring, etc... After years of creating his own music and traveling the world, Kevin has since began to share his knowledge of song structure, song writing, and recording with the younger generations. Working with both local NJ based bands and national touring acts he has discovered there is always something to be shared with your peers in other musical groups. At the age of 26 Kevin's short career has already included dozens of local acts and four internationally released albums, and has now found a home in Union, NJ at Soundwaves Academy where he is currently a co-owner. His experience and knowledge is easily accessible to all bands no matter their size or budget for their project.
Brandon has been pursing his passion of percussion for almost a decade now. He was an avid member of the Paul Green School Of Rock for about 3 years which significantly broadened his musical pallet and horizons. He soon began playing in local bands and jumping on the NJ underground circuit. During these years he was given the opportunity to play venues such as The Highline Ballroom, Blender Gramercy Theater, Penn's Landing, Starland Ballroom & many other local bars and festivals. Now-a-days Brandon spends his time booking and helping the local music scene. He still pursues his passion of percussion and has recently begun producing some Electronic Dance Music as well.
Soundwaves' resident producer / engineer / mixer Tom Stratton brings his eclectic resume to recording projects on a daily basis. Both a studio veteran and road warrior, Tom is willing and able to play the role of the hands-on producer, studio musician, inspired engineer, and everywhere in between. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist, Tom often plays a direct role in the outcome of the song being recorded. This is just another part of the job for the New Jersey native. His fingerprints often appear all over the music he produces, whether it be in the form of arrangement ideas, or performances on the song itself. Tom strives to take advantage of the favorable workflow of digital technology while always seeking to utilize analog equipment for the final mix whenever the project allows. This serves to provide maximum flexability and sounds for any recording project, whether it may be a 3-song demo or full length album. You can find Tom Stratton any given day in the control room at Soundwaves, on the stage with his band "Socratic," or cheering for the Bronx Bombers wherever the YES Network is being broadcasted.
Joseph, a web and graphic artist by trade, grew up in a house where music wasn't a hobby but a way of life. This constant reinforcement led to first a well-rounded knowledge of all things audio and second a deep love and interest for it. After studying a number of different instruments in and out of school, Joseph began experimenting with recording. In his bedroom before high school he was developing different microphone techniques, learning to mix a rock band, and playing consistently to a click, paving the way as a future session player. Soon thereafter, he found himself learning more and becoming even more interested in the subject and invested in a Pro Tools LE system for his own personal use. He then got to work on a pristine and now widely-regarded EP called "First Adventure" by Gaezzetti which he tracked and mixed from the comfort of his home basement. Now, Joseph takes Audio Engeneering very seriously at soundwaves, getting to know the rich and unique sounds their live room has to offer. "Recording your record at this facility is most definitely not a bad idea."
Joseph is also the resident design artist at Soundwaves Recording studios. Joseph graduated from Rowan University with a BA in Mangament Information Systems, a specialized degree involving both front and back ended client/server relations. His services are offered through his child-company Bearded Axe. You can learn more about that here: http://beardedaxe.net/portfolio
